Job Description
RMH Systems, one of the largest material handling, packaging, and industrial scale distributors in the Midwest, is currently seeking a Chief Information Officer for our Corporate office in Waukee, IA. This position has an IT Specialist reporting to it, but is otherwise a "team of 1", so they must be strategic but also able to roll up their sleeves to get things done.
The Chief Information Officer will develop, plan, and implement an information technology (IT) strategy that meets the company's business needs, delivers optimal return on investment, and maintains utmost security. This position will play a crucial part in leveraging technology, including AI tools, to streamline processes, manage data and analytics, and optimize service delivery. We are looking for someone with 7+ years of experience in a similar position. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, expertise with data analytics tools, cybersecurity, and cloud-based technologies.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy, including the integration of AI tools, aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Lead the technology team and inspire a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other department heads as a business analyst on technologies that improve marketing revenue generation (leads), sales effectiveness, customer service, and installation more efficiently and effectively.
- Be willing to roll up your sleeves to lead strategy and design sessions, document results, get management approval, and ensure stakeholders are fully engaged in change efforts.
- Continuously drive a future state vision (enterprise architecture) for the company’s CRM and ERP that improves sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Execute change management plans tailored to the company’s culture.
- Ensure company data and assets are protected by a comprehensive cyber program founded in an information security policy.
- Oversee the development of workflow automation and integration tools and processes.
- Develop a “data first” strategy, including data analytics for analysis, and visualization, to provide actionable insights using machine learning, BI, and AI tools.
- Establish data governance and data quality standards to ensure accurate and reliable data.
- Set a vision to deploy GenAI technology that enhances customer service delivery, optimizes installation processes, and improves supply chain.
- Establish an IT governance program that engages executive management in continuous review and improvement of IT strategy, key projects, technology demand management, IT team capacity, and cybersecurity.
- Foster a culture of learning and development, providing opportunities for team members to grow and excel.
- Establish IT operation standards for the delivery of services and applications (e.g., DevOps, COBIT, ITIL).
- Leverage managed service providers (MSPs) to deliver commodity IT services (e.g., Help Desk, asset management, cyber protection, cyber monitoring, device provisioning, security management, new employee onboarding, etc.) in a scalable manner.
- Set clear performance objectives and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Build team skillsets that align with data-driven revenue and profitability growth.
- Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships (e.g., MSPs, ASPs), working collaboratively to ensure timely delivery of technology solutions and services.
- Evaluate vendor performance and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), addressing any issues or discrepancies.
- Develop a vendor management strategy, including vendor selection, contract management, and ongoing assessment of vendor capabilities.
- Identify and onboard strategic technology partners, aligning their offerings with the company's objectives.
Requirements for the position:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Technology, or related field.
At least 7 years of experience in a senior technology leadership role with a track record of successfully driving digital transformation and innovation.
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Expertise with data analytics tools, cybersecurity, and cloud-based technologies.
Excellent ability to conceptualize long-term business goals and develop orderly processes to accomplish those goals.
A forward-thinking and visionary mindset, combined with a strategic approach to technology.
A strong understanding of information technology and information technology systems.
