HIRING RANGE DOQ: $26.89 – 29.16 hourly

JOB SUMMARY

Perform semiskilled and skilled duties, including landfill operation and construction, landfill equipment operation, landfill gas, pipeline, and leachate equipment operation, maintenance, repairs, and day-to-day leadership. Direct and train other semiskilled and skilled employees in the above activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or GED certification with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in landfill operations and construction and the operation of various types of light and heavy construction or related equipment used in construction and in street maintenance activities; or any such combination of education, experience, or training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.

Must be operator-qualified for gas pipeline-related tasks within one year of hire as required by the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission.

Must pass Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) Manager of Landfill Operations (MOLO) exam within one year of hire.

Must possess or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire a valid Class A commercial driver’s license with tanker endorsement.
